Coachella is one of the world’s biggest and most iconic music festivals. It’s held yearly for two weekends in Indio, California, in the Colorado Desert. The festival was founded in 1999 by Paul Tollett and has continued ever since. It is known for massive music lineups, varying outfits, a cultural aesthetic, a desert vibe, and celebrity-packed crowds. Hundreds of social media influencers are paid to go to Coachella to promote brands. Thousands of people all around the world connect and come together to enjoy this fun trip. Coachella 2025 had around 250,000 attendees. Some performers that the public enjoyed were Charlie XCX and Lady Gaga.

However, this year, many people were not fans of Coachella. Firstly, many of the outfits that attendees put together were basic and boring. During this festival, people usually get creative and artistic, but many outfits were the opposite. Common attire this year was monotone or neutral colors, whereas in the past, people wore an arrangement of colors, whether it was rainbows or diamonds. Outfits are a huge deal because Coachella is known for wanting creative freedom and out-of-the-ordinary clothing. Many people who can’t go look forward to seeing all of the astonishing outfits. This year was a disappointment in the attire category. 

Junior Emily Caslander says, “I was excited to see the outfits that people put together, but was not happy when I did.” 

Another situation that was highly disliked by the public was the showers and bathrooms. The line for the bathroom was reportedly hours long at most times during the day. The showers were very small, gross, and not very private. Some people paid $10 for premium showers, but the only difference is that they were painted white. This is not ideal, seeing as though it was very hot and people stayed in their cars for 3 days. Coachella tickets are already very expensive, so most people couldn’t afford a hotel nearby. Instead, they would camp out, leaving thousands of people without a proper and sanitary bathroom situation. Hopefully, next year, the complaints get through to someone running the festival so changes can be made.

Overall, many people were not fans of Coachella 2025. There were a few things that were enjoyable and pleasant but it didn’t live up to its standard. Hopefully, next year Coachella will be more fun and achieve its expectations.
