Fall’s here, and it’s time for cozy sweaters, apple picking, and everything pumpkin spice! The season brings a mix of chilly mornings, football games, and warm drinks that make every day feel like a little adventure. The air smells like cinnamon and leaves, and everywhere you go, you can see colors changing from green to orange, red, and gold.
There are some pros and cons to fall. The pros are the nice weather, pretty trees, cozy clothes, and all the fun activities like apple picking, carving pumpkins, and enjoying warm drinks with friends. The air feels fresh and crisp, and it’s the perfect time to enjoy being outside without it being too hot. Fall also brings holidays like Halloween and Thanksgiving, when people come together to celebrate, eat good food, and make special memories.
However, the cons are that it starts to get colder, the days become shorter, and it gets dark earlier. The leaves, while beautiful, can make a big mess when they fall, and the chilly mornings make it harder to get out of bed. Sometimes, the weather changes so quickly that it’s hard to decide what to wear—too cold for summer clothes but not cold enough for heavy winter coats.
Even though fall has its downsides, it’s still a season many people look forward to because of its cozy and colorful atmosphere.
I asked some students what they thought about fall and what they liked to do during fall.
Sophomore Emily Mandler said, “There are many things that I like about the fall. The weather is so beautiful. It’s football season and every monday you have a friday night game to look forward to. During the fall time I am mostly focused on cheer and I love it and hanging out with all my friends on the sidelines.”
Sophomore Kynsie Pistons said, “I love fall because of the weather. I never feel too hot or too cold. I love all the Halloween activities and apple picking. It makes fun things to do with friends and spend time with family. “
Sophomore Sofia Eche said, “I like how the leaves change colors and the holidays in fall. Also all the decor. I like planning costumes, baking, and other fall festivities.”
Sophomore Jane Hughes said, “I like fall because of the leaves changing colors and the scenery it creates and during fall I like playing for our high school volleyball team and getting food that’s pumpkin flavored.”
Enjoy the fall season while you can because it never lasts long! Soon the leaves will be gone and winter will be here, so take time to enjoy the cozy weather, pretty colors, and fun activities. What do you like to do during fall?
