With summer quickly approaching, students of Wayne Hills gear up for their summer jobs. Although summer break is supposed to be a time of relaxation for students after months of strenuous work, some students take the many job offers that Wayne has in order to make some sort of income.
Joining the workforce has always been a thought on students’ minds. Wanting to get a job not only gives money to save and spend, but also offers a learning opportunity, a sense of teamwork, and students are able to discover a new skill. Joining a job may also offer students ideas of what they want to pursue later in life if they are young enough.
We asked students what type of jobs they are looking to pursue over summer break. Sophomore Makalya Canning says, “I’ll be working at HomeTown Creamery this summer!” while other sophomore Brandon Nick says, “I’ll be working with my father in Property Management.”
While some students are determined in joining the workforce, many have decided to take a break this summer and focus on other activities, as many are looking forward to vacation, sports, and summer learning programs. Depending on the career, freshmen may be too young to work, and seniors will be occupied with their new lives in college.
Some students already have jobs while others are not starting their work until the end of the school year. There is a range of employment opportunities for our high school students, and if you’re looking for any, please refer to these links below to aid you in your job search. Good luck to all of those who are seeking jobs!
