Prom is right around the corner, and girls have been searching for months for the perfect dress. As the girls reveal their dresses to one another, trends of similar recurring styles become apparent. One trend that seems to be very prominent this year is a very over-the-top look… Rhinestones. This is not new for the class of 2025, as many girls wore junior formal dresses with a similar style. On another note, it seems a majority of people are leaning towards a corset-inspired top for the dress. While these types of dresses have been popular for a couple of years, this year’s prom definitely holds the most followers of this craze.
Each year, the girls tend to create a group chat on GroupMe where there share their dresses in order to avoid two people purchasing the same one. A couple other trends that have been noted are glitter patterns, and slits on the bottom of the dresses.
We asked senior, Sophia Flower, if she had any inspiration for her dress,. She said, “I really wanted it to be royal blue because that’s my favorite color, so it kind of reminds me of Cinderella.” We also asked her about any trends she noticed, “I noticed a lot of girls got dresses with flowy bottoms.” It has definitely become more common for girls to wear flowy dresses, and this new trend leaves us all wondering if tight long dresses are out and if flowy long dresses are in?
Additionally, we asked senior Madelyn D’Aleo if she noticed any trends too: “I noticed there was a handful of glittery and colorful dresses, but people mainly got dark or neutral dresses.”
Prom 2025 is definitely going to be a prom to remember, especially with all the unique dresses that are planned to make an appearance. Happy Prom!
