At first glance, Angelina Vepryk blends in seamlessly at Wayne Hills High School. She describes herself as “an average student,” someone who enjoys her classes, appreciates her teachers, and feels comfortable in the school’s supportive environment.
Just like a normal student, stressing over grades and hang out with friends. But once school is over, Angelina steps into a life far from ordinary. Angelina Vepryk is a Ukrainian model and singer who has appeared on runways and stages.
“I honestly don’t feel like I stand out,” she says, “Grade-wise and teacher-wise, I feel average.” And yet, outside of school, Angelina is a singer, a model, a studio artist, and a performer whose work has reached many beyond Wayne Hills.
Angelina began singing almost as soon as she could speak. “I’ve been singing since I was five—performing-wise,” she says. “But honestly, I think I’ve been singing my whole life. Even as a baby, I would scream. That was my version of singing.”
What started as a childhood passion quickly became something more.
With encouragement from her family, especially her mother and aunt, Angelina began turning poems into lyrics. “My aunt started writing poems because it brought her peace and joy,” she explains. “My mom suggested we turn one into a song. From there, we just kept going, changing around a few words.”
Her modeling career also began with family encouragement. “My mom signed me up for it,” she says. “At first, I didn’t know how I’d feel, but I actually really enjoyed it.” Preparing for shoots doesn’t stress her out. “I’m not nervous,” she explains. “I get excited. I just focus on posture and positioning.”
Despite that recognition, Angelina is quick to downplay the idea of fame. “I don’t really feel famous,” she says. “I do get recognized here and there, but I wouldn’t say I feel like a celebrity.” When people do find out about her career, reactions are usually filled with surprise. “They’re like, ‘Oh my gosh, you model? You sing?’ They ask when I started, where I started, and what my favorite part is.”
Those conversations don’t make her uncomfortable, she really likes sharing about her life its part of what makes her such a good person. “It makes me feel positive,” she says. “I like sharing my life with people and talking about how my experiences shaped me as a person.”
Balancing school, music, modeling, and family responsibilities requires discipline. “I go to school, do my homework as fast as I can, and if I can finish it at school, I do,” she says. “When I get home, I record, cook dinner, take my dogs out, work out, and study.”
Her schedule is packed almost every day of the week, including piano lessons, vocal training, Ukrainian school on Saturdays, and church on Sundays. “It’s a lot,” she admits, “but I make it work.”
Listening to music lets Angelina escape, which she truly loves. While she sings classical-style songs, her personal taste surprises people. “People don’t see me as a rap person,” she says, laughing. “But I love rap. It’s my safe place. It makes me feel happy in a way I can’t really describe.”
One thing many people don’t know about Angelina is her cultural background. “I feel like people don’t really know that I’m Ukrainian,” she says. “I don’t always go around telling people my nationality, but it’s a big part of who I am.” Her faith is just as important. “The best advice I’ve ever gotten is that even if you have no one, you’ll always have God,” she says. “That really sticks with me.”
For Angelina Vepryk, working out and cooking are as important to her routine as music itself. “Working out makes me feel better,” she says. “It makes me happier and helps me feel more confident.” She often fits exercise into her busy schedule as a way to reset both physically and mentally.
Here at Wayne Hills High School, Angelina takes foods class and says cooking is one of her passions. “I love cooking dinner,” Angelina says. “I usually cook four or five times a week.” At home, cooking becomes another creative outlet—one that often includes music. “I sing while I cook all the time,” she laughs. “It just happens naturally.” For Angelina, movement, food, and music are deeply connected, each helping her feel balanced, energized, and grounded.
While talking to one of Angelina’s close friends, Gillian Mitchel, she says three words she would use to describe Angelina are “Kind, funny, and energetic.” Wow, Angelina seems to have the whole package, including having such wonderful friends in her life that she loves very much.
Criticism is something many people struggle with, especially people as young as Angelina, but criticism doesn’t faze her at all. “I don’t take it personally at all,” Angelina says. “People who criticize me actually help me grow. And honestly, if someone comments something negative, it draws more attention to my work anyway.”
For someone who insists she’s just an “average student,” Angelina Vepryk lives with uncommon drive and confidence. Her advice to others reflects that mindset. “Just be yourself,” she says. “Don’t try to fit in. This is your first time living, and you have so much to live up to—so show people who you truly are.”
