Wayne Hills is giving blood and saving lives.
Wayne Hills is hosting a blood drive and working with the company Vitalant. They plan to have a certain number of donations since many people participate in the blood drive. You have to be at least sixteen to donate blood, and there are 76 slots to fill.
Wayne Hills is truly saving lives. With just one person’s donation, they can save up to three people’s lives. The process to do this involves filling out an entry form. Then the participants get an assigned appointment time. Student Council advisor Ms. Silvestri has helped everyone understand how important this blood drive is.
Wayne Hills received a kickback with the amount of donations received last year; they received $500. This money is given back to the student council and is given as a scholarship to the seniors at the end of the year.
New Jersey is at a blood shortage and needs roughly 5,000 more active donors to meet patient needs. Blood services are struggling to keep up, according to the New Jersey Department of Health. Wayne Hills is being a huge help to many people through this blood drive. The kindness of these students is unremarkable and is always thanked by the blood services.
Juniors and Seniors can sign up to donate here.
