Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) Season 34 Started on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. The show has been on for nearly 20 years!
If you don’t know what DWTS is, it’s a reality competition show where celebrities are paired with professional ballroom dancers. Each couple performs weekly choreographed routines to impress a panel of judges and secure audience votes. The pair with the lowest combined score is eliminated each week until a champion couple is named.
Now let me introduce you to the couples this year. The couples are Jen Affleck & Jan Ravnik, Hilaria Baldwin & Gleb Savchenko, Jordan Chiles & Ezra Sosa, Baron Davis & Britt Stewart, Alix Earle & Val Chmerkovskiy, Dylan Efron & Daniella Karagach, Corey Feldman & Jenna Johnson, Danielle Fishel & Pasha Pashkov, Elaine Hendrix & Alan Bersten, Scott Hoying & Rylee Arnold, Robert Irwin & Witney Carson, Lauren Jauregui & Brandon Armstrong, Whitney Leavitt & Mark Ballas, and Andy Richter & Emma Slater.
Episodes one, two, and three have already come out. At the end of the first episode, none of the couples got eliminated. But in episode two, Baron Davis & Britt Stewart, and Corey Feldman & Jenna Johnson were eliminated. Then, at the end of episode two, a shock to a lot of people, Lauren Jauregui and Brandon Armstrong.
The first episode did not have an official theme night, but we do have 2 through 11 themed nights. Week 2 was One-Hit Wonder. Week 3 was TikTok. Week 4 was Disney Night (Disneyland 70). Week 5 was Dedication Night. Week 6 was Wicked Night. Week 7 was Halloween Night. Week 8 was Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Week 9 was the 20th Birthday Party. Week 10 was Prince Night and Week 11 was the 3-Hour Finale.
Week 2, “One-Hit Wonders Night,” the ballroom was turning back time as each couple performed to iconic songs from artists who made their mark with a single unforgettable hit. From catchy beats to nostalgic throwbacks, the night is all about celebrating those tunes that topped the charts and stayed in our heads for decades. Get ready for a fun-filled evening of rhythm, sparkle, and surprise performances that prove one hit can truly last a lifetime!
Week 3, “TikTok Night,” the ballroom got a modern twist as couples danced to viral TikTok hits and recreated the trends that took over our screens. From catchy moves to viral moments, it was a night full of energy, creativity, and social media sparkle!
I asked sophomore Melania DeMayo who her favorite couple was and what she thought of the season so far.
Melania DeMayo stated, “My favorite couple has to be Robert Irwin and Witney Carson. I love their dances they have done so far. I hope that they will win the Mirrorball Trophy. I really like this season so far, and I can’t wait for all the upcoming episodes.”
I also agree with Melania. I think Robert Irwin and Witney Carson are a great team and are great dancers. I can’t wait to see their upcoming dances.
What’s your favorite couple, and how do you like season 34 so far? If you are interested in watching the new season, you can watch it on ABC on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET or stream it live on Disney+.
