As summer approaches, it is time to set goals for yourself that can become great accomplishments. Setting goals motivates you and helps you stay accountable. Without having a purposeful goal, life can feel aimless and boring. Goals can also help create a better sense of responsibility and can improve your skills in that area. Whether the goal is small or large, it is still beneficial and can significantly improve motivation and focus.
There are many different types of goals that each have different purposes. For example, personal goals are for self-improvement and developing hobbies. Now that school is coming to an end, it can get boring over the summer sometimes. The usual routine of getting ready, picking out an outfit, and going to school is the same routine day after day. During summer, we can lose productivity now that the return is paused. What are some goals students here at Wayne Hills set for themselves to stay productive over this break?
Freshman Riley Johnson said, “This summer I really want to be productive. Now that school is almost over, I want to hang out with my friends more and go to the lake.”
Junior, Jenna Huynh said, “Over the summer, I want to achieve my ‘summer bod,’ make $1,000 to save, get into college, get a 1350 or higher on the SATs, and take many cute pictures in California for memories.”
Sophomore, Rebecca Youssef, had similar goals and said, “I want to continue going to the gym, get a job, make lots of money, and stay productive while also having time for family and friends.”
“I want to take more photos for photo class next year, consistently go to the gym and eat healthier, and dedicate more time to field hockey,” said sophomore Nour Abaza.
Although many people think that summertime is all about having fun and relaxing while school is out of session, it is important to keep a routine and set goals for yourself for improvement. It is just as simple as getting up early, eating healthy, and going to the gym, or even getting a job. It is important to stay productive and organized to set healthy habits for the beginning of the new school year. Of course, it is important to have fun, but also don’t let this long break mess up your normal routine. What are your goals for this summer?
