Beloved sitcom Malcolm in the Middle set to have a revival.

Malcolm in the Middle was a sitcom that ran from 2000 to 2006. What made Malcolm in the Middle so special was how it depicted the lower middle class and how the family struggled through life situations. It depicted a family; Lois and Hal, the parents, raising their four children while dealing with the stress of work. The oldest, Francis, was sent to military school and constantly disobeys his mother. Reese, the second oldest, the trouble maker. Malcolm, the main character and the middle child (hence the name of the show), he’s the smart/gifted one. The last kid, Dewey, being the cute younger sibling. The series follows the family and the situations they get into while dealing with daily life. When the series ended in 2006, the actors remained private on social media and kept their lives private. However now, in 2025, it has been confirmed that Malcolm in the Middle would be getting a reboot. I asked some people that were fans of the original show what they thought about that.

“I don’t know how I feel about a Malcolm in the Middle reboot,” says Derek Hernandez of Wayne Hills High School. “It’s a show that I loved watching as a kid, and I don’t think it really needs a reboot. Especially how it’s a show that they can easily mess up if done wrong. If they do it right, I feel that it can be a really fun watch and I wouldn’t feel so indifferent towards it.” 

With the surprise of a new reboot, It will be interesting to see what the plot follows and takes from the original storyline. The reboot is supposedly supposed to be about Malcolm having a daughter and dealing with his new family. I am most excited to see Reese come back since he was my favorite character. What are your thoughts on this nostalgic show coming back in 2025?
