Students having fun at junior Formal!

With the spring season in bloom, the Junior class at Wayne Hills High School kicks off their season at the Junior Formal.

Filled with food, fashion, and lots of dancing, the Class of 2025 had a blast at the Junior Formal on Thursday, March 7th at the Brownstone in Paterson. People dressed to impress, as I saw gorgeous dresses and formal suits. Now Juniors give the rest of the school a rundown of what took place at the formal and what fashion trends they saw at the dance.

While many people expect the Formal to be full of dancing and music, fashion plays a huge part in the event. Each school dance also comes with girls scrambling to find the perfect dress. Each year also comes with new trends that each girl seems to love. Junior Lucia Nesbitt commented on the 2024 dress trends, “I’ve seen a lot of sparkles. All the dresses are very form fitting too, but most are also pretty unique.” I definitely love the sparkle trend myself, as my dress featured lots of sparkles. Junior Alyssa Tomporowski also added, “Strapless is very popular right now. I’ve also seen a lot of blue.” This year proved to be full of beautiful and unique trends, and I am excited to see what next year’s trends will be.

The dance proved to be a fun day for most students and the Brownstone was welcoming to all guests. The dance floor was filled with students singing to their favorite songs and the food was incredible. Junior Laiza Pelez shared her favorite part of Formal, “I loved singing and dancing to music with all my friends.” The food had a variety of options for students and dessert featured a fun waffle and ice cream bar. Overall, students really enjoyed themselves and everyone looked great dancing and hanging out with their friends.

I would say that the 2024 Junior Formal was a complete success. From the delicious food to the stunning outfits, the Class of 2025 had a night to remember. For sophomores, this is definitely a date to look forward to. I am excited to see what new trends and events the Class of 2026 will bring to formal next year!
