During the time between New Years to the last day of January, the art students in Intro to Visual Arts in Room 140 have been working hard on their latest project. Currently, the students are starting to explore using colored pencils, getting to choose between drawing candy, art supplies, and fruits and vegetables under the guidance of Mrs. Peller.

For some background, Mrs. Peller decided that she wanted to pursue a career in art in middle school at Schuyler-Colfax Middle School. It was at this time when she started to babysit and realized she enjoyed being around kids.

As the teacher of both Intro to Visual Arts as well as Design and Composition, Mrs. Peller is also the advisor for the Green Club at Wayne Hills.

“The topic that I’m most looking forward to for my Intro to Visual Arts students is probably using colored pencils,” Mrs. Peller said. “It’s one of my personal favorite art materials to use.”

The students are separated into groups depending on what they decide to draw. This is so that they could help each other for inspiration.

Since this room isn’t only limited to freshmen, Intro to Visual Arts is a great way to get involved in school activities and expand your art abilities.
