Leos Look Toward Busy School Year

By Michelle Lampariello

The WHHS Leo Club is looking forward to staying busy this year! The Leo Club is a community service organization. Students attend various trips, often giving up a portion of their weekends, to help out those in need. As junior affiliates of the Wayne Lions, club members can participate in making their community a better place. Previous trips have included painting cabins at Camp Marcella, a beach cleanup in Asbury Park, and a visit to the Wayne Handicapped Center for a holiday party. In addition, Leo Club members plan to continue their annual sale of pens as a fundraiser for the club after seeing last year’s success. The advisors for the WHHS chapter of the Leo Club are Al Ruffini, retired teacher,  and Susan Price, english teacher.  They are both enthusiastic about the upcoming events for the Leo Club.  “Our club is real and active. We do good work,” said Ruffini.   All students, regardless of grade level, interested in joining the Leo Club are welcome to attend the next meeting after school in Room 225 on September 29th.
