As the school year is coming to an end, the seniors at WHHS are excited to begin college. College is a major milestone in people’s lives — it’s the first time many of them experience living on their own. It is a place for people to earn their degrees, start their careers, and learn what it’s like to live as adults. Most seniors have already been accepted to colleges and are decided on where they will go next year. See what some of the seniors have to say…

Sarah Merza has been accepted to and will attend Ohio State University. She has a full scholarship for fencing and is looking forward to being a part of the Buckeyes. She said, “Excited is an understatement. I get to go to the college I’ve always wanted to go to and do what I do best (fencing). The next four years of my life are going to be awesome!”

Natasha Ayoub will attend Rutgers University but is still undecided on what she wants to major in. “I can’t wait to start college and make memories that are going to stick with me forever. Obviously it’s going to be my first year, so I’m not really sure what to expect, but what I do know is that it’s going to be fun… And I still need to find out what I want to major in”, she claimed.

Sammy Samkough is rather excited to study computer science at Montclair State University. When asked how he feels about college he said, “It’s the first big step in my life, but it’s only the start of something great. Most importantly I’m here to get my degree and start new projects. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me.”

Rana Joukhai has been accepted to all of the colleges she applied to. “I was open to a lot of choices in the beginning. I applied to Montclair, William Paterson, Seton Hall, and Monmouth.” She is choosing to go to Monmouth University and study marketing.

Clearly, college is a big deal for all seniors. It’s a great experience and it’s the start for their futures and careers. Congratulations to the class of 2016 for being accepted into college and best of luck!
