As seniors at Wayne Hills High School enter the stressful time of applying to college, what goes through their minds? Some see it as easy as they are more leaned back about getting in, but some who have had dream schools picked out for years stress to get the perfect application in and are anxious about getting that acceptance letter. Kids go to college advisers, take classes on how to apply, and look at college after college searching for the perfect one. The anticipation of waiting leaves kids on the edge of their seats and either gives them happy results or devastating news.
As every student prepares and heads down the scary path of finding their future everyone has a different look on how applying went. Maybe they had a seamless application and they thought applying was easy and are not too stressed. Others freak out and check and re-check their work over and over again until they are sure it’s perfect. No one knows the better method for applying until they jump in themselves because it can be different for everyone.
When looking at one of Wayne Hills’ own senior students who just finished applying, Addison Pistone gave her views on applying. She states: “Applying to colleges takes a lot of time and can be very stressful but ends with a feeling of relief when you’re done and start to get acceptances.” Her sharing this gives us an inside look that maybe the stress is worth it when you get accepted and start to actually see your future ahead of you. Addison shares that the feeling of relief when you’re finally done is better than anything, and that the time it took was worth the result of getting into great schools that can end up being a perfect fit for her.
All the senior students at Wayne Hills High school are going through this process right now and some are not even done yet, but looking at someone’s state of mind, is the work worth the end result? It really gets deep in deciding if next year seniors are ready for this stressful but beneficial time. In hopes that every student gets into at least one college they love, everyone prays for the seniors students as hopefully some of them are feeling relief and getting into the next chapter of their lives.
