The Sophomore Student Council are motivated in achieving a couple of goals throughout the 2018-2019 school year.

One of student council’s main roles in the school is to coordinate Spirit Week, which will be held this year the week of the 12th to 16th of November.

“Priority number one right now is Spirit Week and a lot of hard work and effort is going into collecting cans and making our posters look great,” commented Joe Kubofcik, President of the Sophomore Class. “We’re also focusing on not coming in 4th place again.”

However, no matter which grade wins, Spirit Week is all about gathering cans for Wayne families in need. Consequently, Student Council Representative Luke Kaplan said, “The competition between the grades is what makes us want to get more cans, but in the end, we’re all working for the same cause.”

Though the Class of 2021 Student Council is currently focused on Spirit Week, they also have a couple fundraisers in the works to raise money for Junior Formal.

Representative Yulieanna Sim stated that “[a]ll of us are working to brainstorm some possible fundraisers we can do and we already have a few surprises for later this year that I think everyone at Hills would enjoy.”
