Finally, the New York Giants take their first W against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

The Giants were 0-5 up until their game against the Broncos.  Many Giants fans were very frustrated and gave up on the Giants after last week’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers after Odell Beckham Jr., one on the best WR’s in the league, broke his ankle and was ruled out for the rest of the season. On top of this, Brandon Marshall went down with the same injury and is also out for the season.  In addition, Sterling Shepard also had sprained his ankle along with a bone bruise and he is out for just a couple of weeks.

The Giants can’t afford to lose any more of their players as the frustration continues with the fans and the players, as Dominique-Rodgers Cromartie left practice early on 10/11/17 after getting into a argument with another player whose name was never released

Broncos quarterback, Trevor Siemian, completed 29-of-50 passes for 376 yards and a touchdown, but he was intercepted twice in the game.  New York cornerback Janoris Jenkins had a phenomenal game as he returned one of the interceptions for 46 yards for a touchdown to give the Giants 17-3 lead with 48 seconds remaining in the first half.

Also, Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul had three sacks that led the Giants defense. The Giants defense played a key role in this matchup as it prevented them from starting the season 0-6 for the third time in franchise history.

In addition, running back Orleans Darkwa had an astonishing game as he ran the ball for a career-high 117 yards on 21 carries.

Darkwa’s 5.6 yards per carry and the Giants’ season-high 148 rushing yards as a team was the result of the offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan’s plan to the run the ball with Darkwa, accompanied by the offensive line’s best performance of the season to open up holes for Darkwa and to protect Eli Manning.

Aaron Hook, a Sophmore at Wayne Hills said that “the Giants winning the game against the Broncos is a step in the right direction and they look like they are back on track.”.

Hopefully, the New York Giants can become 2-5 after their upcoming matchup, playing the 3-2 Seatle Seahawks on Sunday, October 22, 4:25 PM at MetLife Stadium.
