English Department Welcomes Christina Sciacca

This year Wayne Hills is excited to welcome a new English teacher, Christina Sciacca. Sciacca grew up in Caldwell, NJ and attended James Caldwell High School. After graduating from James Caldwell, she attended Fairleigh Dickinson University with the ultimate goal of becoming an educator.

Sciacca thoroughly enjoyed school, admitting in an interview that “Yes, I was a nerd in high school.” Sciacca was also a huge participant in extracurricular activities, including cheerleading in both high school and college, becoming an RA for her dorm building in college, and Greek sorority life.

Upon entering Fairleigh Dickinson, she hoped to be a math teacher until she was taking her general education classes and came across an English professor who changed her life. Throughout her education, she was always a very active reader, but only after taking said professors course did she feel inspired. Switching majors, Sciacca then pursued a future in teaching English. Sciacca really looked forward to “inspiring others to pursue their dreams” which was the whole point of the career for her.

Even though Sciacca is extremely consumed with her new job as an educator, she still has a life of her own. Recently Sciacca became engaged back in July 2017. Sciacca is also still active in the world of social media, using Pinterest often, collecting ideas for her upcoming wedding day.
