Lady Gaga to Be Honored as Billboard’s 2015 Woman of the Year

Billboard magazine and Time Magazine have partnered together to televise annual Women in Music event in which Lady Gaga will be named the 2015 Woman of the Year on May 17, 2015 . “Billboard’s Woman of the Year has always represented the finest in music, and the anointing of a key influential figure who drove the conversation for that year” says Janice Min, co-president and chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media’s entertainment group. “No one embodies that more than Lady Gaga in 2015”.

Lady Gaga has had dominating the music world through her Oscar Performance, co-headlining tour with Tony Bennett that includes duet “Cheek to Cheek” which made the top ten list on July 29, 2015.  The six time Grammy winner is rumored to be releasing her fifth solo album to be released next year.  Long time fan Jaime Huynh, a junior at WHHS, talks about Gaga’s award.  “There was no one who deserves this award more than her.  She is so incredibly talented and is now making a name for herself in the acting world with her starring role in “American Horror Story: Hotel”.  The American Horror Story franchise combines shock value and fear to create the perfect element for Gaga, real name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, to express her talent. As a role model, Gaga also sheds light on social issues. Her song “Till It Happens to You” is featured on a college sexual assault documentary The Hunting Ground, planning to be released on CNN before the end of the year. Overall, her talent and influence over the world makes her nothing less than deserving of this prestigious award.
