WikiLeaks Release Additional Possibly Damaging Clinton E-Mails

Hillary Clinton’s email trouble has come back, with new emails from her campaign being released on WikiLeaks.

These messages are being released from the account of Clinton campaign chairman, John Podesta. In an email coming from 2011, Doug Band, Bill Clinton’s longtime personal aide called Chelsea Clinton a “spoiled brat.” He also said that she caused unnecessary problems and she hadn’t “found her focus in life.” Band also complained about how Clinton used to meddle in his consulting firm, Teneo, where her father was a paid advisor.

Newest emails have shown Clinton’s aides mocking Catholics and evangelicals.

John Halpin, a senior fellow at the liberal think tank Center for American Progress, stated in an email that Rupert Murdoch, 21st Century Fox Chairman, and Robert Thomson, NewsCorp Chairman,  are Catholics because of “systematic thought and severely backwards gender relations.”

Jennifer Palmieri, Secretary Clinton’s communications director, then replied, “I imagine they think it is the most socially acceptable, politically conservative religion — their rich friends wouldn’t understand if they became Evangelical.”

Palmieri, a Catholic herself, stated that she did not recognize the email and they will not fact check the emails that have been stolen. She says that they were “hacked by Russian lead efforts in an effort to ruin our campaign.”

Many Catholic and Evangelical groups and leaders are very upset by these comments.

A statement that was released by a group of religious leaders stated “Podesta’s refusal to raise any objection makes him equally party to this bigotry. It is inexcusable. It is shameful. It is un-American.” The statement asks for an apology from Clinton for the remarks and the behavior from her aides.

The main question is, how will this affect Secretary Clinton’s campaign?

“I think that she will win, but I think fewer people will vote for her,” said Jordyn Lopresti, a sophomore.

Secretary Clinton has yet to comment on the latest leaks.
