The Major League Baseball season is underway and off to an exciting start. The Baltimore Orioles are starting strong having won their first seven games of the long, 162 game season. The 2015 World Series Champions, the Kansas City Royals, are picking up right where they left off and playing well in their first games. The Chicago Cubs are starting off with the best record in baseball with eight wins and just one loss.

On the other hand, the Minnesota Twins and Atlanta Braves have both lost their first 9 games. The New York Mets are off to a difficult start having only won three of their first 9 games.

In the middle of the pack there are the New York Yankees who are trying to improve upon last season with their triumphant trio consisting of Dellin Betances, Andrew Miller, and Aroldis Chapman. “I don’t think they’ll stay the same because its’s early in the season and some key players have yet to hit their stride, for example Troy Tulowitzki (Toronto Blue Jays) who is only batting .128,” said junior Joe Peischl.

Other teams trying to make a run to get ahead in their divisions are the Pittsburgh Pirates, St.Louis Cardinals, and the Colorado Rockies. At this point in the season nearly anything can happen and any team could replace those in first. With still about 150 games in the season to go it should be another exciting season of Major League Baseball.
