International Club Giving Back to the WHHS Community

By Jaclyn Dericks

The International Club is having a food drive to help restock the shelves of the Food Bank here at WHHS.

What better way can you give back to your community than right here at your own school? This food drive will benefit people in Wayne who are in need of these food products, toiletries, and paper products.

The International Club also had a coat drive around Spirit Week which turned out to be quite successful. This coat drive inspired members of the International Club to further impact the community in a positive way. Although this is the first time that the International Club has collected food for the food bank, WHHS is no stranger to donating food to those in need. WHHS raises canned foods throughout the year, especially during Spirit Week. This is a great and easy way for students to give back to their school and community and to help those in need from our own town.

I do believe it helps a lot of people in need. Families contact the WHHS Health Office, and they confidentially arrange for the family to acquire the items available from the food pantry,” says International Club advisor, Maggie Holland, “I think the food drive is a great project.”

Donations for the food drive should be non-perishables such as pasta, cereal, canned goods, and paper products and can be brought to room 239 by Thursday, March 17. It’s time to give back Hills!
