Two Virginia Tech Students Charged with Murder

Two Virginia Tech students are being charged with the murder of thirteen year-old Nicole Madison Lovell. Lovell’s body was found on January 31, 2016, four days after her disappearance when she climbed out of her bedroom window Wednesday night. David Eisenhauer, eighteen year old engineering major and track star at Virginia Tech University, has been charged with kidnapping and the first-degree murder of Lovell. Natalie Keepers, a nineteen year-old, is charged with improper disposal of a body and accessory to murder. Evidence links Eisenhauer to knowing and speaking to Lovell before her disappearance through the online messaging program “kik”. The alleged motive for the stabbing was that Lovell was threatening to expose their inappropriate relationship. However, alleged accessory Keepers’ case lacks a clear motive, but her background includes a long list of mental health issues. Keepers Attorney Mary Pettitt claims that Keepers was “excited to be part of something secretive.”

“This story is truly heartbreaking” says junior Troy Melendez. “My heart goes out to her family after this shocking tragedy.” The investigation of this vicious crime is far from over, but it is apparent that the primary cause of death was stabbing.
