The Streak Is Over

The Streak Is Over

While competing in sports and everyday activities such as basketball, there’s one goal in mind. That is to win, of course. In some ways, you have to defy the odds. Even when things aren’t going your way it must be in your best interest to keep battling every second you’re out there competing.

Coming into Tuesday’s game, the Wayne Hills Boys Varsity Basketball team hasn’t beaten Passaic Valley on the road in 11 years! Hills’ Head Coach Kevin Grimes has always believed that “if you come out of the gate strong and play with an intensity level that cannot be tamed,” you will win.

The Patriots won Tuesday’s away conference game against Passaic Valley by a score of 55-48. Senior Jason Cote had mentioned, “PV is such a tough environment to play in, and walking out of there with a win was absolutely huge.” Both Dorian and Justin Hodge had a dominant outing having combined for a total of 31 points. Senior Joey Kenny had another solid performance on the court with nine points and a couple tough rebounds. The Patriots are now 12-2 overall and they are 6-0 in the league ranking in the one seed. Hills is now currently ranked 28th in the state of NJ.
