Chiefs Come out Victorious in an Exciting Super Bowl!

Super Bowl LVII last weekend was one to remember for the ages thanks to a late game-winning field goal, an all-star halftime show, and an exciting weekend overall!

On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles by a score of 38-35. Many players shined, including Jalen Hurts with 3 rushing touchdowns for the Eagles and Travis Kelce with 81 receiving yards and a Touchdown for the Chiefs.

Both teams had very successful seasons with both teams earning 13-3 records during the regular season. Entering the season, the Chiefs had the third-best odds (+1000) of winning the Super Bowl and the Eagles had the tenth-best odds (+2000) of winning the big game.

The score was back and forth for the entire game, but with the Eagles having a 10-point lead at halftime, it looked like they had a real shot at winning.  Coming out of the locker room for the second half, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes gave it all he had with his team scoring three touchdowns. In the final two minutes of the game, Mahomes drove down the field to set his team up for the game-winning field goal.

Senior Jordan Levy said, “I thought the game was a back-and-forth contest and was very entertaining. With Mahomes and Hurts dueling it was a great game. I thought the Eagles’ below-average defense is what contributed to their loss. It was a tale of two halves.”

The Chiefs won their second Super Bowl in five years and with an injured ankle, Mahomes shone in this year’s game. Head Coach Andy Reid has done a great job with this team and he has left a positive impact on each and every player on this winning team.

The Eagles will definitely be looking to come back even stronger and quarterback Jalen Hurts will definitely be playing with a chip on his shoulder for next season.
