FBLA Goes to States

By Sam Gallo

The WHHS community is doing something exciting in February: Sending FBLA to the State Leadership Conference in Atlantic City.  Ten students from the “Future Business Leaders of America” organization are going to the competition on February 18 and 19th. Led by advisor Carla McClain, the students will go up against other FBLA clubs from all over New Jersey.

Putting their knowledge of business and skills to the test, the students will be competing in individual or group events with the goal of advancing to the next level. There are over 60 events, such as web design, business calculations and business ethics. Jacob Rantas, junior at WHHS and devoted member of FBLA who will be competing in the web design event, shares his excitement for the upcoming opportunity. “I look forward to the state conference every year” Rantas says. “I love meeting new people and hanging out with my friends who share the same interest in business as myself”.

In addition to the conference being fun, it is beneficial to the students and the experiences that they share will mold their career. Business-related curricular and competitive events combines to make a fun weekend for the students. WHHS FBLA hopes to place overall and advance to the National Leadership Conference that will take place in Atlanta Georgia over the summer.
