Relay is quickly approaching

Relay is quickly approaching

Relay season has begun! The Relay for Life Committee held an informational meeting on January 13th in an effort to gain more teams and participants. Relay for Life  is an incredible event that helps raise both awareness and money that is used to help cure cancer. There are currently 24 teams registered to participate this season and the number is growing. Together these teams have raised $3,375 so far and that number is expected to grow tremendously. At the meeting, cancer survivors joined in to tell the committee their stories. Everyone had something to say about how cancer affected their lives. They held a candle lighting ceremony in the auditorium, spelling out the word “hope”. “Every team has made it their responsibility to make relay a huge success,” says senior Alex Hoff. “A lot of preparation and planning goes into it, but the hard work is absolutely worth it when we get to see how many lives this event touches.” The meeting was a great success and an excellent prequel as to what is to come this relay season.
