For their winter project, the Wayne Hills National Honor Society decided to work with Good Grief, a non-profit organization that helps families and individuals deal with losing a loved one.

Good Grief has locations in New Jersey such as in Morristown and Princeton. They are 100% free and accept volunteers to help lead different programs. The support groups help parents and children in fun and valuable ways.

The National Honor Society helped by designing inspirational cards to give to those participating in Good Grief programs and donated materials such as crayons, markers, staplers, paper, and much more.

National Honor Society President, Eunho Jung, says she found Good Grief throughout a summer internship that allowed her to get involved with local organizations. Jung remembered Good Grief particularly because she had never seen anything like it and “was amazed by every detail the staff recognized and acknowledged.”

Jung says that the donations provided by the NHS were used in a variety of ways. “For example, our glitter stickers will be used to decorate paper leaves to add to the mural tree with notes to deceased loved ones.”

Good Grief is a wonderful organization that has helped hundreds of families deal with loss. The National Honor Society has changed the lives of many in the process of donating and continues to achieve this with each project.
