Athletic Clubs Hold Fundraisers For Community Corona Relief

By Michael Joyce, Staff Writer

Wayne Hills Athletics has been stepping it up in efforts to support the first responders in Wayne. Both Wayne Hills softball and the Wayne Hills Football Booster Club have both come up with a way to contribute and say thank you to all the people out there putting their life on the line.

The Wayne Hills Softball program sold face masks with the team’s logo on them.  As of April 27th the team has sold 284 face masks. The softball program will be contacting Wayne Township to find out where the donations will be most needed.

The Wayne Hills Football Booster Club has put together a program also in support of the front line workers as well as the local restaurants that have supported them for many years.

The program is called “Meals for our Medical Heros” They are collecting monetary donations and purchasing meals from local restaurants and delivering the meals to three local hospitals; St. Joseph, Paterson, St Joseph, Wayne and Chilton Memorial Hospital.  All of the money donated is being matched by the booster club. The original goal was to provide 1,000 meals as of April 26 they have exceeded their goal and served 1,350 meals and raised over $6,000 they hope to keep going.  Anyone interested in donating to Meals for Medical Heros can do so in the following ways:
