NBA Finals is finally here the end of the NBA season is approaching. Raptors vs Warriors at Toronto, Canada and Oakland, California on ABC

The Toronto Raptors will make their first NBA Finals in franchise history. While the Warriors will make their 5th consecutive appearance, matching The Boston Celtics. The Warriors are competing to try and become the 4th team in NBA history to win 3 consecutive championships.

The Raptor’s management fired, The Coach of The Year, Dwane Casey and traded away longtime star DeMar DeRozan, this past summer. They received Kawhi Leonard and hired Nick Nurse as their head coach. This is Kawhi’s first year as a raptor. Raptors had to beat the number one seed Milwaukee Bucks. They did so in six games.

The Warriors are empty handed this time around. They have lost their leading scorer, Kevin Durant, and it seems that Small Foward, Andre Iguodala, could be injured after suffering a leg injury. While the Raptors are loaded and their bench is ready to play.

After game 1 it seems as if the Raptors are not scared of the Warriors. They shut down the Warriors’ transition offense and limited their 3-point shooting. Steph Curry was cooking with 32 points and Klay Thompson had a decent game. Other than that Warriors did perform well. On the other hand, the raptors played extremely well. They out performed the Warriors in 3 of the 4 quarters, leading in points. Kyle Lowry and Kawhi did not have outstanding games, but the rest of the team stepped up. Especially Pascal Siakam, who scored 32 points, with eight rebounds, 5 assists.

Matthew Mangibin, a junior,  states, “The Raptors look red hot. The Warriors look powerless without Kevin Durant.”

The Raptors lead 1-0 against the Warriors. Without Kevin Durant the Warriors might not have enough fire power to compete, unless someone steps up. Hip-Hop/R&B Artist, Drake, looks to get inside the heads of the Warriors by trash talking them. Without Durant, I don’t see the Warriors winning the Series. Jurassic Park might see their first NBA Championship in franchise history.
