After a nearly perfect season, at 10-1, last year the fencing team is going to be looking for an even more successful season this year. Being led by former fencer of the year Dawson Sieradzky, who is only a junior, the team has a bright future. Last year the entire team competed day in and day out, leading to just one loss for the boys team. “For the boys team we want to make the top eight in team state tournament. For saber win squad states,” said Sieradzky. The girls team finished 8-6 which is a small improvement from the previous years 7-5, and the team looks like they are on the up. “I think the team overall is better because we lost five starters and the people taking their spots are around the same or better and the four starters who remain from last year have improved,” Sieradzky explained. It sure looks like this team is oozing with potential and will excel this season, Wayne Hills should come out and support the previously overlooked fencing team.
