Good Knight 22018-19 Season

The second season of the Wayne Knights was another successful one even following a big loss of seniors after the 2017-2018 season.

The 15-9-3 Knights concluded their second consecutive winning season with a heartbreaking loss to Hillsborough in the Public A Group Semi-Final. As well as that they lost to Lakeland Regional High School in the Passaic County Final after making it to that point for the second year in a row as well.

The Knights battled tough illnesses that could have shaped the outcome of a couple of games very differently.

The team was lead by senior captains Jared Cohen (34 points), Chris Taranto (36 points), and Eric Kruglyak (44 points). The Knights will definitely miss the production of their leaders on and off the ice next season.

Ben Friedman, a freshman, burst on the scene is the lone freshman int the starting lineup. He is someone they will look towards because he will only get better from his impressive nine-point season.

“We’re going to be okay next season,” said Friedman. “We will return a good goalie and will be led by our captain Anthony Mazzerita”.
