Coming off an ultra-successful 21-8 season that culminated with the first ever Passaic County Title in Wayne Hills History and a Sectional Semi-Final loss in quadruple overtime, expectations for this season are higher than ever.

After graduating one of the best players in Wayne Hills history, Joey Belli, along with others such as Jason Modak, Pat Gilmore, Justin Wills, and Joe Cerone the team has their work cut out for them.

In addition to player personnel changes, the team also has a new coach, Rob Carcich, who replaces Kevin Grimes behind the bench.

Key players to keep an eye on this year are seniors Jake Belli, Pulast Thaker, Nebi Ademi. Joining them will be Jason Sanfilippo, JP Lemchak, Mike Joyce, Carter Lewis and Brett Wood.

Jason Sanfilippo says that the team will, “Rely heavily on sticking together and playing in a very structured system. We will have to play a technical game in order to be successful.”

The boys are up for the challenge of defending their Passaic County crown, as key senior Jake Belli has said that he is, “very excited to be taking the court with my brothers for the last time. The team’s work ethic is like no other, which will set us up for success. Jake then went on to say that the team’s, “Our hard work, focus, and determination will take us to where we want to be, which is another Passaic County Championship.”

The boys open the season December 14 at 7pm in the Gifford Gym against the Teaneck Highwaymen!
