Athletes were all smiles this week at the official signing day celebration! Dan Abate, Joe Curcio, Danny Colon, Austin Phillips, Joe Simone, and Sam Kauffman each took turns with pen in hand to officially sign commitment forms with their future sports teams at the colleges they will be attending in 2016. Abate signed with Monmouth University, Joe Curcio with Long Island University Brooklyn, Danny Colon with Indiana State University, Austin Phillips with Marist College, and Joe Simone with Rider University.  All of them will be playing baseball at their respective schools. Abate said it was the coaches who lured him to Monmouth. “Making my final decision on which school to attend was one of the hardest decisions I ever had to make. I chose Monmouth because I really connected with the coaches as they welcomed me into their program immediately. The coaches are great and the team is also incredible. Also my dad had played baseball at Monmouth and was drafted and played for the California Angels,”  he added proudly.  Kauffman signed with the University of Delaware for swimming in their Division 1 program. “It’s an awesome feeling knowing that all my hard work has finally paid off,” Kaufman said.
