The movie everyone is talking about: Black Panther

New movies come out almost every week, one particular movie that has caught the attention of many people around the world is Ryan Coogler’s,  “Black Panther” which has been a top movie for the past three weeks.

Chadwick Boseman plays the main character, T’Challa who returns home to an African Nation named “Wakanda”, to take his place as king. The young king battles danger as various enemies appear. T’Challa must protect his people.

What makes “Black Panther” such a powerful movie, is the message behind it. The movie is set in an advanced African Nation during the time people of African descent were fighting for equality. It shows what it means to be black in both America and Africa—and, to be more broad, in the world. Rather than talking about themes about race and identity, the film deals with the issues affecting modern-day black life. It is also incredibly entertaining, filled with comedy, well choreographed action scenes.

“I think it is cool that they are using real African concepts in the movie” says Micheal Goldman.

To have an African-American director as well as the majority of the cast is what makes this superhero film so powerful and meaningful.

Everyone should go see Black Panther while it is still in theaters! “This movie has left an impression on me” says Matt Rua.
