While it may seem like a distant memory due to schedule disruptions and continued fierce winter weather, the Junior formal was a huge success even though students had to trudge through the nor’easter to celebrate at the Westmount Country Club on March 2nd.

The Westmount Country Club outdid themselves with a variety of different foods. They served a mix of classic American food, Japanese cuisine, hibachi, and a salad bar. They also included non-alcoholic cocktails and beverages.

Lauren Dizon, a vegan, often struggles with finding food that she can eat when going out, “It was reassuring to know that among all the chaos with formal, food wasn’t something I had to worry about like I usually do,” she said.

As entertainment plays a big role in any gathering, the Junior Formal exceeded standards with relevant music that dragged the crowd on the dance floor. Including a wide variety of genres such as EDM/club mixes, Latin, and a variety of today’s and past hits.

About 10 to 15 teachers chaperoned the Junior Formal, “The best part was seeing people come out of their shell and truly having a good time. It was also fun to see how everyone can really clean up instead of wearing sweatpants and a sweatshirt every day,” said Brianne Korbanik, english teacher.

Most girls that attended the Junior formal can commonly say that getting dolled up was a big highlight for the night, “It was exciting to get dressed up even though being on time put on a lot of stress. Seeing your friends all dressed up and taking pictures was fun,” Tia Afflitto, junior.

The Junior formal was an overall success, besides the bad weather; the class of 2019 pulled themselves together for a night to remember.
