Wayne Hills Marching Band Wraps Up Competitive Season
The Wayne Hills Marching Band recently competed at the Whippany Park Tournament of Bands Championships competition two Sundays ago, wrapping up their competitive season.
The band scored an 89.6, their highest score in the course of the season. They also won the awards for Best Visuals and Best Guard while placing second overall in their group.
The marching band’s theme this season was entitled Portrait of the American West and featured movements titled American Overture for Band, Hoedown, Home on the Range, and The Magnificent Seven. Led by drum majors Yara Abbo and Annie Pascale, the band’s hard work and led to a successful competitive season.
One trombone player, sophomore Cheyenne Ajebe commented on the end of the season.
“I’m really sad that marching band season is over,” Ajebe says, “Almost all of my friends are in marching band, and once the season is over, I don’t really see them as much.”
Although the competitive season is over, the Wayne Hills Marching Band will still be performing and will support the Wayne Hills football team through their playoff games.
