Promposals

By Carly Polay and Erica Autiero

Will YOU go to prom with me? Everyone at WHHS is buzzing about promposals! Who will go with who? Who will get asked the best way? Promposals are a big deal at WHHS. Everyone is impatiently waiting to be asked and prepare to spend a night full of fun and dancing at prom. Prom is June 16th this year at The Grove. Many promposals involve posters, food, balloons, flowers, and any other creative ideas they have!

“I was really nervous even though I knew she was going to say yes, but I wanted to make sure everything was perfect. We both went to Mexico together over spring break so I thought there would be no better way than to ask her regarding that. I borrowed a sombrero and poncho to add to the Mexico theme. I had my artistic friend make a poster for me which turned out amazing. I went to my dates best friends house where I waited for her arrival. It was really fun and a cool surprise since she didn’t know it was happening,” said senior Karl Reidel.

Everyone is excited to dress up for the night and show off their dresses and tuxedos. This is every girl’s dream to dress up in their beautiful dress and get their hair and makeup done to make the night perfect. This year’s companies that carry everyone’s favorite fashion trends for dresses are Jovani, Sherri Hill, Group USA, PromGirl, Faviana, Mori Lee, Madison James, Blush and many more. Girls spend hundreds of dollars to buy the most perfect dress for prom.  We can’t wait to see everyone dressed up with their hair and makeup ready!

“Searching for the perfect dress isn’t easy. This was a stressful process because everyone wants to get their dream dress and it’s hard to find that dress. I went to a couple stores and tried on a couple dresses before I found my dress and now that I found it I’m even more excited for prom,” said senior Marisa Scialla.

After prom is always a great time for seniors. Most of the seniors go down the shore with their best friends and rent out a house for a couple of days. This is a great way to relax and enjoy the last few moments of high school together.

“I think I might be more excited for after prom than the actual prom itself. I can’t wait to be down the shore with my best friends and just have a great time. Prom will be fun but after prom is going to be a blast!,” said senior Alison Badami.
