As of February 5, 2026, Wayne Hills High School has lost a Patriot with a legacy.
Christian Olsen, Wayne Hills Patriot and older brother to NFL broadcaster Greg Olsen, sadly passed away at age 42 due to a glioblastoma. He attended Wayne Hills High School and graduated with the Wayne Hills High School Class of 2002. He played quarterback for the Football Team and his father was a coach for the football team. He and his entire family did so much in this town and school. Although he is no longer with us physically, his legacy will keep his spirit with us forever.
Christian Olsen had a huge impact on the WHHS community.
Ms. Ventimiglia, a staff member here at Wayne Hills, told us how she felt while finding out about his passing. She felt really upset for his family and that he was so young. She said: “I was very upset to find out that a member of our community was affected…his father was one of my teachers when I was a kid…knowing it was somebody so young.”
He had such an impact on this school that a memorial service was hosted for him at this school. So many people who knew him, of his legacy, or who attended this school came and some spoke about him. This can all be seen in the video called “Forever a Patriot” on the Wayne Hills youtube channel.
Christian Sees, the Wayne Hills Football Booster Club President, spoke at this memorial and said: “I’m sorry you lost a brother, I really am. I didn’t know him as well as you guys, but if I know anything about Christian Olsen, it’s everything you guys have to say about him…What an extraordinary character and person.”
He states that all of the posts made about Chris had really strong meaning. They were about who he was and “what he meant to Wayne Hills football.”
Christian Olsen had such an effect on anyone he was around. This was why Wayne, Wayne Hills High School, and the football community were heavily impacted by his passing.
