Saquon Barkley: The Upcoming Legend

By Ethan Yuppa, Staff Writer

Saquon Barkley was drafted by the New York Giants in the first round at pick number two.  Barkley went to Penn State University and dominated the league as being one of the best running backs.

Barkley’s statistics at Penn State were insane.  He had 5,038 all-purpose yards, averaged 6.5 yards per carry and had a total of 51 touchdowns.  In addition to these remarkable statistics, Barkley is what one may call, “an athletic freak.”  Being 233lbs and 6 feet tall, Barkley is able to do 29 reps on a 225lbs bench press and run a 4.4 40 yard dash.  Barkley also has a 41-inch vertical jump and a 31 3/8 inch long arm span.  Even more so, Barkley has a very muscular build that can be characterized by superhuman strength and athleticism.

It has been only 4 weeks since the NFL started and Saquon is taking the league by storm!  He has already 260 rushing yards while averaging 4.6 yards a carry with 3 touchdowns!  Barkley is able to manipulate short gaining plays and turn them into touchdowns with his miraculous skills.  When the Giants played the Eagles, Barkley had 2 50+ yard carry’s, and the Eagles’ defense is known this season for not giving up big runs.

Here is what Brian Reicher, a junior at Wayne Hills has to say about Saquon:

“I can see him as rookie of the year! He is definitely a versatile player; he’s able to run the ball and can catch a pass for a touchdown.”

All Giant fans are getting excited about Barkley being the team’s running back and Saquon is predictedto have a legendary career as being one of the best running backs in the game.
