Students and faculty of WHHS have been noticing signs saying “hand washing only, water not potable, do not drink,” near all sinks at Wayne Hills. Many members of the schools were confused as to why and where these signs came from.

WHHS science teacher Gregory Panas stated earlier last week, “No one is really sure where these signs came from or who put them there. It wasn’t the janitors, science department or anyone in the main office.”

It is still a mystery as to who put up the signs. However, the reason for them was the the discovery of lead in the schools sink water. Assuming that no one would drink the sink water anyway, most feel there is no need for the signs.

“I would never in a million years drink the schools tap water, we don’t need the signs,” stated junior Monica Borsella.

Since no one has been drinking the sink water anyway, the lead problem hasn’t caused any huge issues. And thankfully, the water fountains are still in perfect condition, containing no lead or any other harmful contaminants.
