All Out, All Game, All Season,

By Olivia Minervini

The captains of the Wayne Hills Field Hockey team, Amy Prol, Alison Badami, and Liz Byrne made this 2015-2016 year inspirational motto “all out, all game, all season.” And WHFH has sure embraced that moto. The varsity team have already won 8 games, and unfortunately, lost 1. However, the team tried their hardest and impressed all their fans, their teammates, and their coach.

Each and every player on the WHFH is proud to be part of the team. Varsity player, Amanda LaGuardia says “it feels great to be on such a great variety team because all of our hard work is paying off. ” That goes for junior varsity and freshmen. “My team supports me to make me do better and they push you to try new thing. If you fail they are there to pick you up,” Jackie Gazzano, junior varsity. Jackie Anevski, a freshmen said “watching J.V. and varsity play helps me tremendously improve on my skills and I have leaned a lot about field hockey from my coach and teammates. We try really hard and give it our all.”

The varsity goalie Rachel Vellis, “star goalie,” saved a total of 78 goals so far this season. She is a candidate for the best field hockey goalie in the Northeast field hockey league. Against 14 other goalies, Vellis is already in 4th place, with around 290 votes. Rachel Vellis sas “it feels good and I’m honored to be nominated.”
