A select group from the WHHS track team traveled all the way to the University of Pennsylvania to participate in the Penn Relays last week on Thursday, April 28th. The Penn Relays are the oldest and largest track and field competition in the United States; the competition is held on the Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Track stars Gulianna Guarino, Sarah Adamchak, Dezi Tulipano, Kat Zachmann, Meg Griffin, Sami Sklar, and Emily Becker ran their best times in the 4×1 and 4×4 races. After a strong first half of the season, these girls have improved significantly and continue breaking personal records.

“Penn Relays was a great experience and my 4×1 team is feeling very prepared for counties,” said Junior and varsity runner, Sarah Adamchak.

Coaches Greg Rehberger, Christine Caaman֮o, and Jason Staggers have been training the sprinters and work the athletes hard everyday. The team looks forward to future meets and expects to run well at counties this year. As the season is coming to a close, the team continues to persevere and run their hardest!
