Every year, as December rolls around, Spotify users are eagerly waiting for one of the most anticipated moments of the year: Spotify-Wrapped. This reveals a reflection of your yearly most listened songs. Spotify gives you a summary of your top five artists and a total of the minutes listened on the app. It says what genres you listen to the most and other songs you might like. Spotify users look forward to looking back at the year. This feature on spotify is very popular as it offers insights into your listening habits.
As we went around school, interviewing students, we were able to hear about how Spotify-Wrapped is a big thing to look forward to and all of the things students love about it.
Alex Ludena, a Senior here at Wayne Hills told us, “Last year my number one artist was Drake. Honestly, I think it’s gonna be Bad Bunny this year.” He predicts a change in his top artist this year.
Senior Gabriella Scaturro says, “I really enjoy it because I think it’s really cool how it measures all the music you listen to per year and your top 5 artists and all the genres you listen to. I look forward to this every year”. She also predicts having a switch in her top artist going from Morgan Wallen to Zach Bryan.
Having the opportunity to view a summary of your top music genres is always so fun. Being able to make predictions is also something many people tend to do.
Senior Addie Ickowski agrees as she says, “My number one Spotify-Wrapped person was Zach Bryan.” “I think this year it’s either gonna be Zach Bryan, John Pardi, or Luke Combs.”
“I love Spotify. I think it’s nice to see who you listen to the most and like what your top person is and I think it’s also really good to find new music.” Spotify gives individuals an entertaining way to connect with artists. Overall, Spotify-Wrapped offers a fun and insightful way for users to reflect on their listening habits while discovering new favorites and top hits.
Some students, like Sophomore Emily Tusha, predict that their Spotify-Wrapped will stay the same as the previous years. She told us, “My number one on Spotify-Wrapped last year was The Weekend and I predict it’s going to be the same this year.” As we went around the school, it was interesting to see the difference in artists, and how some students have the same artists and some have changed.
Overall, the love for Spotify-Wrapped was clear as students gave nothing but positive feedback and this is something that is looked forward to by so many students, and Spotify users.
