As their season nears an end, the Wayne Hills girls lacrosse team has had many accomplishments over the course of the season. A main one being senior attack, Kate LoPresti tallying up 100 total points in her career.

LoPresti achieved this accomplishment on May 9th, against Pequannock on an assist to Senior Kaitlyn Davies. Halfway through the second half, the girls were on a fastbreak and LoPresti led the pack. As she neared the crease, she looked for an open teammate. Senior Kaitlyn Davies (UF Commit) was there to receive the beautiful pass from LoPresti and send it to the back of the net. Davies said, “I was so happy to be able to celebrate Kate’s 100th point with her, she deserves it. She’s such a great player and hard worker. This is such a big accomplishment. I’m so proud of her.” The chemistry and connection between these two has been evident throughout the season and the 100th point being scored between them only seemed fitting.

When asking Kate about this accomplishment, she said, “After working hard all three seasons, it was a very big accomplishment and I was happy to achieve this goal with my teammates by my side. Hard work brings positive outcomes.” She is very proud of her accomplishment and it is well deserved.

The team has had a very successful stretch in the past few years. Last week, the girls won their third Passaic County Championship in a row. Kate had 7 assists in the 17-10 victory over the Lakeland Lancers. After the big win, Kate said, “Since Freshman year we have won counties every year and it felt great to win again as a senior. This season the team has played great and worked together to win some big games.”

With three games left before states, one being cross town rival Wayne Valley, the Patriots are hoping to finish off the season successful. There will hopefully be more accomplishments to come in the remaining games of the season as the Patriots take on the sectionals starting May 19, 2022.
