Wayne Hills will be holding their annual Spirit Week during the week of November 12 – November 16.

Monday through Friday will be packed with fun themes and activities to participate in. Monday is pajama day, so come in your favorite onesie. Tuesday is USA Day, anything red, white and blue is acceptable. Wednesday is College Day so wear anything that has a college logo on it. Thursday is Hawaiian Day, flowered shirts, grass skirts, sunglasses, and Leis are acceptable. Friday is class color day where Freshmen wear pink, Sophomores, green, Juniors, purple and Seniors, orange.

Spirit week is a way to engage students in a fun way. Money is collected before and after school. Jugs are placed in the front of the school and each grade will have a positive and a negative jug. The money in the negative jug will subtract from the amount in the jug for each grade. Each grade is to raise as much money as possible to win Penny Wars.

¨Spirit week will be a huge success. We will reach our goal for penny wars,” said Seniors Stephanie Casamassina and Sydney Rose.

Food is also collected all week long and is donated to the WHHS PTO food bank and a local charity. This is a great way to help out those that are less fortunate before Thanksgiving.

¨I think that we could have done a better job with the themes, but I think we will raise a lot of money and gather a lot of cans,” said Morgan Ritesma, senior.

The spirit rally is filled with fun, games and school spirit. Games include Dizzy Bat, Pie Eating Contest, Balloon Pop and much more.

If you would like to donate any food, it will be collected in the North Gym on November 12 – November 16 from 7:00 am – 7:20 am. Gift cards valued at $15 or more can be handed into room 154 at the same time.
