The Wayne Hills Boys Lacrosse came away with a win in enemy territory agains the Wayne Valley Indians.

Every year the town of Wayne hosts Wayne Lacrosse Day. It is a day filled with all ages and programs playing lacrosse and most importantly the day of the Wayne Hills vs Wayne Valley game.

Wayne Hills Boys Lacrosse played a great game against Wayne Valley on Saturday April 28th at 4pm at Valley. Hills won the game 8-2, ending the undefeated title for Wayne Valley. The boys are now on an 11 game winning streak and they are hoping to keep the streak alive.

By the first quarter, Hills took a 5-1 lead and by the end of the game scored 3 more goals. Juniors Augie Capria and Patrick Orapello led the team with two goals each. The four other goals were scored by Senior Michael Monaco, and Juniors Michael Joyce, Zach Zachmann, and Craig Wilkie.

Dario Sirni also had a great game winning 8 of 13 faceoffs against senior and friend Danny Dentinger. Freshman Dan Daly saved an impressive 12 shots on goal out of 14, and had a lot of help from the defense Tim McKnight, Justin Kalebota, Nick Azzopardi, and Mike Rasa.

Last year Wayne Valley beat Hills 12-9 on our turf, so this year Hills was determined to take the win on theirs.

When asked how Boys Lacrosse prepared to win, Senior Matt Carrino informed us, “We knew if we were able to look past the distractions and play our game, we would get the job done. That’s exactly what we did.”

The boys have been playing an incredible season this year and we hope to see them continue their success in the future.
