Biden not running for President

After months of rumors and speculation, Vice President Joe Biden made an announcement on Wednesday, October 28th, at the White House Rose Garden, declaring he will not be entering the 2016 Presidential Race. History teacher at WHHS, Kristy Stofey, commented on the possible candidate.

“I believe that Biden will enter the presidential race 386899-afp-joe-bidenonly if public support for Hillary Clinton significantly deteriorates.” Biden’s announcement on not running as the potential Democratic nomination is pushing Clinton farther and farther into the front runner spot. Biden had made it clear that a campaign is a huge stress on himself and his family, and the decision would be made as a family. Biden explained that his window of opportunity to be President has now closed. In addition to his family overcoming the grief of the death of their son, it is simply too late to create a successful campaign.

“While I will not be a candidate, I will not be silent,” Biden comments.”I intend to speak out clearly and forcefully, to influence as much as I can where we stand as a party and where we need to go as a nation.”
