Some of our favorite films from 2024 are Wicked which we think followed a great legacy from its time on Broadway and depicted all of its loved qualities perfectly, The Substance which brought such an important message to light, and Inside Out 2 which touched a lot of young adults’ hearts as the first film came out when we were kids and the message that the story told related to many of our experiences now.
We informed a Wayne Hills high school senior, Laura Pollaro, of the films with nominations and asked for her opinions, “I think Wicked specifically deserves the recognition. I thought it was a great movie.” Another senior Lela Ramadani says, “Wicked was my favorite out of all the nominated films, I really loved the costumes and the whole set in the movie.”
A junior at Wayne Hills, Lexi Catania saw Wicked with her friends and she really enjoyed the movie. She said, “I went with a few of my friends to see Wicked when it first came out. In my opinion, I think that Wicked is my favorite film that is currently nominated for the Oscars.”
Coming from Wayne Hills High School, it looks like Wicked is the number one favorite, but it is still down to the votes so tune in to watch the Oscars on Sunday, March 2 at 7 p.m.. 2024 has brought so many great and iconic films with it, so this awards show will be competitive and memorable.
