Wayne Hills consists of a wide variety of different organizations and clubs. Some examples are Glamour Girls, Leo Club, Patriot Press, Ski Club, etc. Recently, a new in-school club was created by a few students from different grade levels: Christian Club. This group allows students who follow the Christian faith to share their thoughts and feelings with others. They participate in bible studies which means reading different verses every time they meet, bringing them closer and deeper into meaningful conversations. It doesn’t matter how much experience you have with God because everyone starts somewhere. The main goal of the Christian Club is to have a safe and inclusive environment where everyone can feel seen and heard
One of the leaders, Junior Justin Graves says, “Christian club for me is a great way to grow personally as a follower of Christ as well as a leader. It helps me grow with others as we are called to do. No matter where people are in faith, having others beside you going through similar things makes it easier. Overall it is important to me because Jesus saved me and his power can change lives which I’m trying to reflect to others in our school.”
Junior Andrew Castillo says, “I joined the club to strengthen my faith in Christ and get a better understanding of what God wants me to do while I’m on earth. My faith has always been important to me and everything I do I try to glorify God. So, I feel like the club will help me strengthen my relationship with him.”
Another member of the club, Samantha Storzillo says, “I feel like Christian Club allows me to explore my feelings with others who are also interested in learning about their faith. It is a very positive environment where everyone can support each other and grow as brothers and sisters of Christ.”
Christian Club helps students navigate through school while also following their belief in God. Additionally, it allows people who are a part of the group to be more open to friendships, impact their school community, and grow spirituality. It is important to follow things you believe in which is the point the club is trying to get across.
