Every student at Wayne Hills needs to take four years of P.E. in order to meet the graduation requirement, but that doesn’t change the fact that everyone’s opinion on the course is different. There are many factors that play into whether people like P.E. class or not, so let’s hear from a few Wayne Hills students to find out how they feel about the course.
Typically, students who play the sport that they are learning in P.E. class are more likely to participate and enjoy playing it in class. This is the case for many students at Wayne Hills. For example, Freshman Jane Hughes said, “my favorite sport to play in gym is volleyball. That is because I play volleyball.” Someone else who agrees with that statement is Freshman soccer player Sofia Echeverry, who said “my favorite is soccer because I play soccer.”
Other students may find a sport that is easy or that they are good at to be their favorite. Sophomore Eugenia Kwawukume said, “my favorite sport to play in gym class is badminton. It is so fun. I love it and we don’t even need to run or anything, we just hit a birdie back and forth.” Eugenia has never played badminton outside of P.E., but has discovered that it is a fun game to play and she can enjoy doing it in class.
On the other hand, some people do not like P.E. at all and don’t like to participate, even if they are playing a sport. For example, Emily Kolka said, “ I don’t like gym at all, so I don’t have a favorite sport to play in gym I hate all of them equally.” Emily plays volleyball, but dislikes playing it in P.E. class. Many other students who play sports can agree that they also dislike P.E. class.
Every student in Wayne Hills has a different opinion about P.E. class depending on their interests and hobbies outside of school. Some people don’t like any sports or don’t like P.E. class, so they do not have a favorite. Others like to play the sport they play in P.E. class. Some athletic students like to play every game in P.E. or do not have a favorite, while other students simply do not care or have a favorite. Your favorite sport to play in P.E. class all depends on you, your interests, and the sports you play outside of class.
